Oxford Women* in Law Society
Dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and diversity in all areas of law at the University of Oxford
The Oxford Women* in Law Student Society (OWLSS) is a society founded and run by students at the University of Oxford.
We launched in collaboration with the Oxford Women in Law network for alumni in 2019; a year which marked the 100th anniversary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919 enabling women to enter the legal profession in the UK for the first time.
Our fundamental objective is promoting greater gender equality and diversity in the legal sector, starting with the female aspiring lawyers of Oxford. OWLSS provides a diverse and inclusive networking community for women to connect, share experiences and support each other in building ambitious careers in the legal world. Additionally, we host events with influential speakers in the industry, provide access to application resources and promote mentorship opportunities for our members.
